The Barbados Jazz Excursion & Golf Weekend returns October 8–12, 2026, over the Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day holiday, based at the Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord’s Castle Resort on the island’s southeastern coast in St. Philip. Now in its second decade, the event was founded in 2015 by Barbadian-born jazz saxophonist Elan Trotman, who serves as executive producer and continues to host each year.
The weekend’s golf component, a Celebrity Golf Weekend tournament, is set for Saturday, October 10, at Sandy Lane Country Club. Golfers depart the Wyndham Grand at 7am, tee off between 9 and 10am in a 4-player scramble format, and return by 3pm. The format includes prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd low gross, plus closest-to-the-pin and long-drive contests for both men and women. Entry is USD $325 per person, covering transportation, green fees, caddy, a gift bag and lunch.
Confirmed golfers for the 2026 edition include trumpeter Keyon Harrold, host Elan Trotman, former NBA guard John Starks and West Indies cricket legend Dr. Desmond Haynes. Past editions have drawn celebrity players including MLB veterans Bernie Williams and Joe Carter and NBA champion Joel Anthony.
Off the course, the weekend’s concert lineup spans Keyon Harrold, Jeffrey Osborne, Nestor Torres, West Byrd, Mahalia C, Romaro Greaves, Jeff Bradshaw, Andréa Lisa, Kweku Jelani, Joe Torry, Julian Vaughn, That DJ Spin and Harmoni, alongside curated dinners, wellness sessions and island excursions built around Barbados’s south coast.
