Bermudian golfer Daniel Augustus has traded the familiar fairways of Ocean View Golf Course for the English autumn, taking his game to the Clutch Pro Tour just weeks after winning the 2026 Johnnie Walker Classic at home.
Augustus won that 36-hole event on September 19–20 wire to wire, posting rounds of 68 and 67 for a five-under-par 135 and a six-shot winning margin. It was the second Johnnie Walker Classic title of his career, and he dropped only one shot across the two rounds.
His first assignment in England was a step up in every sense: the Clutch Pro Tour’s Tier 1 Tour Championship on the par-72 Hunting Course at Slaley Hall in Northumberland, played September 30 to October 2. Augustus opened with an 84 that left him 70th, but responded with a 75 — a nine-stroke improvement featuring four birdies — and closed with an even-par 72 that included four birdies and four bogeys. He finished tied for 62nd at 15 over par, improving his score in every round, according to Bernews.
The Clutch Pro Tour is a third-tier circuit recognised by the European Tour, with £50,000 purses at its Tier 1 events, and success there typically opens the door to the Challenge Tour. Its Tier 2 development series feeds players up into the main Clutch Pro Tour.
Augustus followed Slaley Hall with the Clutch Pro Tour Tier 2 Championship, a 36-hole event at Clandon Regis Golf Club in Surrey on October 7–8. He opened with an 11-over 83 to sit tied for 70th after the first round.
For a player who built his reputation on Bermuda’s tight, wind-exposed courses, the swing through England offers something local events cannot: regular reps against deep professional fields on unfamiliar turf. With the Butterfield Bermuda Championship returning to Port Royal later this season, Bermudian golf fans will be watching how that experience carries home.
